Cerro Tronador (3,554m) is an iconic peak and the highest mountain in the Argentinian region of the Lakes. It is a quintessential glaciated peak, and it is unique because of its great mass of snow and ice and easy accessibility (requiring only one day of hiking to the base). This combination creates a perfect alpine training ground and provides a fantastic climbing experience for novice and developed mountaineers. This climbing offers the ideal introduction to mountaineering and is often considered Patagonia’s best glacier training venue.
In this 3-day program, our experienced guides will take you on this ice climbing trip to the Argentine peak (3,310 m), one of the three summits of Mt. Tronador and the highest summit in the Nahuel Huapi National Park.
The team size is two climbers with one guide. With this ratio, you have more individualized instruction and outstanding assistance on summit day, and overall success and risk management are increased. Our guides will be teachers and will impart knowledge throughout the program.
This adventure takes place every day from November 1st to April 30th, in private adventure.
