Enjoy one of the southernmost rafting experiences in Argentine Patagonia.
This experience will give you a chance to have unique views of Cerro Fitz Roy and its satellite needles.
This adventure takes place in the Río de las Vueltas, whose waters are of glacial origin from the melting of glaciers in the northern area of Los Glaciares National Park. It is born in Lago del Desierto and meanders down until it ends at Lake Viedma.
RAFTING HALF DAY – RÍO DE LAS VUELTAS, LOS GLACIARES NATIONAL PARK
This activity lasts approximately three and a half hours.
We have two daily departure times:
From 10:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m.
From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
We recommend showing up 15 minutes early.
The activity begins at our operative base, where our guides will receive you. They will provide you with the necessary equipment (suit, jacket, helmet, life jacket, boots, mittens and paddle).
Once dressed, we will move to the river entrance area, where the guides will give a technical and safety briefing before starting the activity.
The first section of the river is 6 km of calm and meandering waters, the ideal moment to make the first contact with the raft and practice the rowing and safety techniques explained. In this section, we will have the opportunity to contemplate Cerro Fitz Roy and its satellite needles, the Andean Forest, the steppe and eventually, native fauna.
The second section crosses the canyon area. After the initial rapid called “Portage”, we will find a succession of class III to III + rapids for 10 km. It is a moment of adventure and adrenaline.
Once we have finished descending the river, our vehicle will be waiting for us to return to the base, where we will change our clothes and enjoy a snack and a drink to recover energy. End of services.
2 hrs. rafting (it might vary depending on the weather conditions)
Meals: Snack & drinks
NOTE
Minimum age: 12 years.
Pregnant women, people with heart disease or those who have recently undergone surgery cannot do this activity.
