DAY HIKE – EL CHALTÉN / LAGUNA DE LOS TRES / EL CHALTÉN

After we meet the guide at the hotel, a private transportation will pick us up to take us to El Eléctrico bridge (16 km from El Chaltén).

Here we will start our hike. After one and a half hour hiking uphill, we will arrive at Piedras Blancas glacier viewpoint, which will dazzle us with its beauty. We continue our walk for an hour through Lenga forests, inhabited by varieties of birds that will delight us with their songs. We will arrive at Río Blanco, base camp for climbers who will try to climb these challenging mountains. From here we can appreciate the surrounding peaks such as the “S”, Saint Exupéry, Poincenot, Mermoz and Guillaumet in all their splendor.

Then we continue ascending 400m in approximately one hour until we reach the Laguna de los Tres. We will reach the highest point of the hike, from where we will be able to contemplate the majestic views of Fitz Roy Peak, the glacier and its lagoon. From here we go around Laguna de los Tres and head towards the viewpoint of Laguna Sucia and its glacier. Once again, the stunning views are unforgettable.
